POKOTABI / Bistro Tanto
Bistro Tanto
Near Kita-Akabane Station, Bistro Tanto serves thoughtfully prepared French and Italian plates, from blue crab bisque and house pâté to roasted duckling and lamb, alongside wines by the glass and varied drinks.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A natural first order is the house specialty, blue crab soup bisque. Packed with the concentrated savor of shellfish, this rich potage is meant to be enjoyed down to the last drop with slices of custom-baked baguette, crafted specifically to pair with the restaurant's sauces. The wine-friendly appetizer selection also includes a house-style pâté, made by marinating, grinding, and spicing the meat on site, as well as whelks roasted in fragrant escargot herb butter.
The main courses focus on roasts that bring out the best in each cut of meat. The roasted lamb features a tender, rose-pink center contrasted against fat rendered crisp, while roasted French duckling retains its succulence. Sautéed beef hanging tender comes paired with a refreshing clam sauce and mountain wasabi, highlighting thoughtful cooking techniques and saucing. For a hearty finish, dinners can conclude with rich carbonara studded with diced bacon, slow-simmered bolognese, or seasonal risotto.
Close to Kita-Akabane Station, Bistro Tanto offers a relaxed, casual atmosphere suited to quiet solo dinners, group gatherings, or celebrations. The drink list includes accessible wines by the glass or carafe, alongside cocktails and house lemonade concoctions. With desserts and coffee ready for the end of the meal, it provides an inviting space to settle in over good food and drink.
